It is in my humble opinion that there has never been a more poignant bad for the encouragement of the saints that that of Petra. I cannot count how many times their songs have impacted me in such a life changing and awe inspiring way. Needless to say I was certainly one of the disheartened when they bid their farewell in January of 2006. Not a good way to start the new year for me and millions of other fans around the world.

 

They say all good things must come to an end but I'm the type that would argue that there is always room for more. So... the band has continued to represent in some fashion since then. Whether it is solo endeavors, the II Guys From Petra project, or the Back To The Rock reunion of classic Petra, the guys have stayed busy.

 

Recently, I had the immense pleasure of sitting down with vocalist John Schlitt to discuss his busy schedule with the myriad of musical avenues he is pursuing, the current state of Christian music, retirement or the lack thereof and the possibilities of he and Bob reuniting the band for another go round.
